- I love videos–for entertainment and the classroom
- I don’t search for them very well
Yesterday I felt a little nostalgic and decided to search for some off-beat cartoons from my childhood. What did I do? I went to YouTube and started searching. I could have gone to Vimeo as well. However, there’s a lot more than YouTube and Vimeo out there and a search like this is not the most effective way to find what you’re looking for.
I decided to take a look at search engines that are aimed at video searches. Here’s what I came up with:
Google Video
Yahoo Video
Bing Video
AOL Video
Veoh
ClipBlast
Fooooo
Blinkx
VideoSurf
In additon to these video search engines you might want to follow this tweet if you’re interested in a nice video iPad app:
I’ve loaded it onto my iPad and the best descriiption I’ve seen is that it’s Flipboard for video!
Go to ShowYou for the iPad
I’m sure that this is not an exhaustive list but should get you started for searching for videos for your personal entertainment or classroom much more efficiently!
