There are many great educational resources on YouTube that can be shown to your class. However, playing them directly from YouTube makes you deal with advertisements, inappropriate comments, etc. An easy way to work around this is to use VLC Media Player instead of YouTube to show the video. And it’s not hard to do! Take a look at the video I made this morning on how to easily play a YouTube video via VLC.
In addition to not having to deal with ads, comments and so on VLC Player offers the ability to increase the volume, skip ahead in smaller increments and continues loading the video even when you pause it.
So if you want to have more control over the YouTube videos you show in class, the free VLC Media Player is a great alternative!!!
