9/11 Interactive Timeline Launched by National911Memorial.org

by on February 24, 2011

It’s hard to believe that the terrible attacks upon the United States happened almost ten years ago.  It seems like just yesterday.  But that also means that most (if not all) of your students were either not alive or too young to understand what happened that day.

The National911Memorial site has just released an interactive timeline of the attacks.  They have put together a comprehensive site that includes videos and pictures.

The site comes with the requisite warning about such graphic content and makes it easy to skip over certain content.

As a paramedic who responded to NYC during 9-11, I am happy to see that it is not forgotten. I sometimes forget that my high school students were only 6 years old when it happened and they don’t really remember it like we do.

It is hard to believe that even high school kids weren’t old enough to understand clearly but it is sites like this that will continue to raise awareness for the current generation of students.
